Sealer General Use & Cautionary Statements

Protecting and maintain your natural stone surfaces is a life-long process. Upon initial installation, our team uses penetrating sealers to lessen the vulnerability of the stone to staining and penetration by liquids.

However, periodic maintenance must be done. Cleaning with neutral (pH7) cleaners, dusting, wet mopping, and re- sealing must be done regularly to maintain the appearance and integrity of the stone.

When using sealers, manufacturers recommendations for application as well as health and safety MUST be followed. It is also recommended to test the sealer in a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding with the whole stone surface.

When applying a sealer, make sure you wipe the surface of the stone until the sealer is dry/fully absorbed into the stone. This ensures proper application. If stone is left wet with sealer, the surface may appear to have a haze or dullness. This is sealer residue.
